PhD candidate position in the Multi-criteria assessment of enterprises adopting ecological innovations for a sustainable and circular economy
Open application for a doctoral candidate in Management
The doctoral candidate position is available in the Business management faculty Department of Economics Engineering. Applicants interested in other research topics related to economics/competition, businesses/startups, management/innovation, and climate/green, are also welcome to apply.
Research topic description
The topic is dedicated to the multi-criteria assessment of economic competitiveness factors and obstacles promoting the introduction of eco-innovations in small and medium-sized enterprises and the prediction of opportunities for improving the introduction of eco-innovations in order to achieve a sustainable and circular economy. The following activities are planned for the implementation of the topic: search of initial and continuing information related to the implementation of the research topic goal in databases, systematization of collected information, analysis of theoretical problems of implementing eco-innovations, preparation of research methodology, publication of theoretical insights in foreign peer-reviewed scientific periodicals, conducting empirical research analysis and processing of empirical research data, preparation of proposals for small and medium-sized enterprises and eco-innovation policymakers. It is planned that the results of the research will form the prerequisites for summarizing and clarifying the motives and problems of the economic competitiveness of the implementation of eco-innovations in small and medium-sized enterprises, the prevailing on the more advanced practices of countries, predicting the development directions of the implementation of eco-innovations. This is necessary in order for the country’s business organizations to contribute more actively to the implementation of the climate change agreement provided for in the Paris Agreement.
The selected candidate will work on the PhD thesis under the supervision of assoc. prof. dr. Kęstutis Peleckis. The successful applicant will have to attend scientific conferences, meetings and internships at other universities.

Programme structure
The PhD programme consists of:
· Independent research under supervision;
· Courses for PhD students (approximately 30 ECTS credits);
· Participation in research networks, including placements at other, primarily foreign, research institutions;
· Teaching or another form of knowledge dissemination, which is related to the PhD topic when possible;
· The completion of a PhD thesis.
