Research topic description
There is a lack of research that will help to assess the need for investments for sustainable development, and the optimal allocation of investments by identifying the priority areas of investments for the sustainable development of the country, therefore, this relevant and complex problem of economic science requires conceptual research and solutions.
The aim of this topic is to create a tool for the optimal distribution of investments for the country’s sustainable development, providing greater opportunities to model investments in priority areas.
The prepared tool, which helps identify the priority areas of investments for the country’s sustainable development, will offer wider opportunities for timely management of investment risks, generating investment returns, and ensuring optimal distribution of investments for sustainable development. The application and systematic use of this tool can allow the country to optimally manage investments for sustainable development and gain competitive attractiveness at the national level.
The selected candidate will work on the PhD thesis under the supervision of Prof. dr. Indrė Lapinskaitė. The successful applicant will have to attend scientific conferences, meetings and internships at other universities.

Programme structure
The PhD programme consists of:
· Independent research under supervision;
· Courses for PhD students (approximately 30 ECTS credits);
· Participation in research networks, including placements at other, primarily foreign, research institutions;
· Teaching or another form of knowledge dissemination, which is related to the PhD topic when possible;
· The completion of a PhD thesis.
